Job Description:
OpTek Systems are looking for a multi-disciplined Service - Applications Engineer with primary responsibility of providing technical support to OpTek’s customers in the PV - Solar Cell manufacturing sector.
These automated systems include mechanical part-handling, vision and control in addition to laser related topics including optical beam delivery, laser-materials interaction and laser safety.
The applicant needs to be experienced in supporting automated production machines. Skills required include:
- Servo tuning
- Diagnosing and solving communications/timing issues
- Software modifications (PLC/PC)
- Networking issues
- Familiarity with machine vision systems
- Some mechanical adjustment
In addition to the above, laser materials processing and optical experience is desirable, although not essential. However willingness to build-up expertise in these areas is mandatory.
Duties will include:
(1) Assembly & commissioning of in house laser material processing systems, and development and refinement of the capability of these to meet customer requirements.
(2) Installation and commissioning of OpTek equipment at customers facilities.
(3) Support of existing customers in the form of telephone support, on-site service visits and customer training.
The applicant needs to have good interpersonal skills and be able to interact with clients in stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
Based in Greenville, SC the applicant will need to respond to customers throughout the US and travel to Europe & East Asia for training. |
